Thursday night, I had my first cake decorating class where I actually decorated a cake! The week before we just went over stuff about the class, and the instructor demonstrated some stuff and explained what we needed to do for the next class. We had a choice of making the Rainbow cake, or the Cupcake cake. I went with the Cupcake! It turned out really cute! I was pretty proud of myself. I thought it turned out pretty good for my first time!
We made our own icing, and tinted it ourselves. She just gave us a list of colors of icing to bring to class. Mine all came out very pastel. I could probably make a pretty good cake at Easter! Next week we're decorating cupcakes, and we're learning how to make flowers! By the end of the class, I'll know how to make a rose!
In other news, we got a German sign made for our door. There's a German man who works at the BX (it's like a mall here) and he does wood burning. I was VERY pleased with how our's turned out! He's very good, and very fast. He doesn't even have to stencil the letters. Just free-hands them and they turn out perfect!
Herzlich Wilkommen is like a warm, hearty welcome. I love it!!!
That's all for now. Thanks for reading!

That's really good, did you have prior experience? Either way, great cake!
This was my first one! I was pretty excited! Going to keep practicing!
Good job!! Is it a Wilton class or just someone teaching basic cake decorating? Are you still looking for a job? Maybe you could do cakes!? :)
It is a Wilton class. I'm not looking for a job right now. Maybe if I get good enough, I could teach the class!
